MELANIN'S
GOLD BEAUTY
In 2016, owner and creator Portu Pour noticed that within her community there was a stigma about black women that did not sit well with her. It is believed that women of color are unable to grow, or have "pretty" hair, or that our hair is unmanageable and unattractive. It caused her to want to create products that not only cater to women of color, but also to use those products in hopes of educating and diminishing the stigma imbedded within our culture and community which has caused insecurity and false beliefs. Her passion caused her to finally launch melanin's gold in august 18 of 2019.
OUR MISSION
Here at melanin's gold, our mission is to equip women of color with the right products to not only build self esteem through healthy hair and skin but also, to enhance their beauty through knowledge of self care, and love.
